Overview

This webcast addresses some of the common concerns that students have about study and exams, such as anxiety and panic attacks before exams, poor sleep, feeling overwhelmed, peer and family pressure and negative feelings.

Our panel of teachers and students, who are practitioners of Sahaja Yoga meditation, discuss and demonstrate techniques they use to balance the left and right side of the subtle system to attain thoughtless awareness in meditation to combat negative thinking and stress that can be brought about by study and exams.

Webcast will include:

  • Short introductory to Sahaja Yoga meditation, the chakras and awakening of our inner subtle energy system.
  • Guided meditations with music.
  • The importance (with a demonstration) of footsoaking and on how to cool the liver chakra to improve attention and reduce stress.
  • Discussion with teachers and students on their personal experience and how meditation has helped with study and exams.
  • Video on Shri Mataji and Her legacy as the founder of Sahaja Yoga meditation.

About the Mooladhara chakra

Situated below the sacrum bone, the awakened Mooladhara chakra gives us innocence and wisdom. Innocence gives us joy without the limitations of conditionings and prejudice, a quality that can be found in small children. This quality diminishes as we grow up and develop a sense of ego and selfish desires. Fortunately, this innate innocence is never destroyed and can return to us by practicing Sahaja Yoga meditation. It is like the sun, which is obscured by clouds, but which shines again after the clouds pass. In India the elephant-headed deity, Shri Ganesha, is respected as the essence of innocence and wisdom. He has the body of a child, symbolising innocence, and the head of an elephant, symbolising humility and wisdom.

“Innocence is the quality of the Spirit; and when this Spirit within you is awakened, you get the power of innocence, by which you overcome all that is negative, all that is wrong, all that is detrimental to your growth, spiritual understanding.” Shri Mataji (founder)

We hope you can join us on Monday!

Quotes from Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi about Self-Realisation

“Self Realisation is the first encounter with reality.”

“Blossom time has come, and many ancient seekers are today getting their Self Realisation.”

“Now the stage today is to know that Self Realisation gives you experiences and then your faith is established. Not blind but open enlightened faith.”

“Self Realisation makes us humble … replace temper with compassion … the more innocent you are, the more blissful you will be.”
“The truth, which can be actualised after Self Realisation, is that you are not this body, this mind, this conditioning from the past, this ego, these emotions, but that you are the Pure Spirit.”

“Only after Self Realisation, and only then, is there a direct experience of the Spirit. It then manifests its powers in the human personality, and its light enlightens the consciousness into a new awareness. The divine intelligence of the Spirit radiates on all sides.”

“After Self Realisation it is easy to perceive the truth that all these religions were born on the same tree of spirituality, but that those in charge of each religion plucked the flowers from the living source and are now fighting each other with the dead flowers of merely partial truths.”

World Mental Health Day is observed on 10th October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilising efforts in support of better mental wellbeing.

Improve mental wellbeing
Research in Australia, and elsewhere, indicates that Sahaja Yoga meditation can improve physical, emotional and mental wellbeing plus reduce stress. Recent studies suggest that this meditation is unique even when compared to other forms of meditation. People who meditate regularly, using this meditation technique for around 20 minutes a day, may find they become healthier, calmer and much more relaxed, with an improved outlook on life. Illnesses and ailments can arise due to imbalances in the subtle system. Through Sahaja Yoga meditation one can correct, balance and nourish the subtle energy centres.
