Sahasrara
I cannot express my feelings on coming here but it is an auspicious moment to recall the glory of my father. All the seekers who did their penance here achieved their ascent with the inspiration they received from the Himalayas; they succeeded in rising to the pinnacle.
Himalaya is the Sahasrara which the Mother Earth has created for you. It should be worshipped. This Sahasrara is very great. I do not see anything except vibrations everywhere. Those who are here are drenched in this tremendous ocean of vibrations, just like fish in the water. These vibrations that are spread all around are so beautiful and joy-giving that it cannot be expressed in words. This is the blessing of the Himalayas.
First and foremost we accept the ocean as our guru. The pollution of the whole world is thrown in it. However, the ocean leaves behind the pollution in its bed and rises as clouds in the sky. It becomes absolutely pure, unblemished and so beautiful. Then it sails toward the Himalayas and covers it with “Hima” [snow].
The word, “Dhaula”, means absolutely pure, clear and nirmal [referring to the mountain range of Talnoo called Dhauladhar]. Ranges like the Dhauladhar spread across the Himalaya. These ranges are similar to the ranges that cover our brain and enlighten our Sahasrara. When we face the Himalaya we appear as particles before Him. There is nothing so special in us that can stand out before Him. What are we before His majesty?
This is the Sahasrara of the whole universe. It has given the whole universe such solace, happiness and joy that there remain nothing more to desire. I have opened your Sahasrara with its help. Through this Sahasrara I discovered that till the peace of the Himalaya settles within, its coolness will not permeate your nature.
Today let us pray to the Himalaya and the seven mighty Devis [Gods] that are here to bless us with their Divine Powers. Their Divine Powers are embodied in the Mother and may we receive these from Her. Thus evoking the embodiment of the Mother, may we seek refuge at the feet of the Himalaya.

It is a very unique thing that has happened, that your Sahasraras were opened out. There were very few people in this whole world. There were some Sufis, there were some saints, some other people also in China, I know, but very few. Very few got their Sahasrara opened out. So whatever they said or wrote was never understood by the people. They actually tortured them. They crucified them and did all kinds of horrible things because they couldn’t bear somebody getting this realisation…
So nowadays the world is full of turmoil, as you see, full of nonsensical people coming up, full of quarrelsome people. Dominating people are overpowering. At this time, if you just see this in the witness state, this will disappear because you are very powerful. But you must know, first of all, that you must have the equipment to use the power. If you have the equipment within you, you can do it. But with your ego you cannot.
Ego is the greatest hurdle for your ascent. You can see that ego is at a place where you have to just cross to go to the Sahsrara. And to break the Sahasrara is very easy otherwise. But if there is ego, you are already lost in that ego. So against all this, one has to understand to “watch yourself”. Is it egoistical? What does it think about itself? Ego is very limited. It makes you limited and you do not see the purpose of your life. Why have you become a realised soul? You do not understand. You just are involved in your own affairs, in your family, in your children, in your something like that – very low. But if you have, if you have a ego-less temperament, then you are very effective; the whole power works. What I have seen, the power of Sahasrara is so great. In some people it has worked wonders…
Now, as it is, I am here to tell you about it. In those days when these saints came in, nobody was there to guide them, to tell them anything. On the contrary, they were so much destroyed by the surroundings, and people never understood why they did not have any ego, why they were so humble; so they were misused. But now you have powers. You must know how to use your powers. But that should not give you, by any chance, any ego that you have powers. On the contrary, you should be humble. You have the power to be humble and you can be humble…

Shri Mataji
Now to say you must meditate, people think it is a kind of ritual, or maybe a kind of a style of Sahaja Yoga. No. Meditation is for you to go deep down into yourself, to achieve all that your Sahasrara wants to give. To achieve that height of detachment, of understanding is only through meditation. So what happens in meditation is that your awareness crosses over Agnya, goes above and is now stationed in the Sahasrara, in thoughtless awareness. Then the reality of Sahasrara, the beauty of Sahasrara starts pouring in your own character, in your own temperament.
Unless and until you meditate, not meditate just to get well or just to feel that I was meditating. But meditation is very important for all of you that you develop your Sahasrara in such a manner that you imbibe the beauty of your Sahasrara. If you don’t use your Sahasrara in this way, after some time you will find Sahasrara will close down. You will have no vibrations and you will have no understanding of yourself. So a very very important thing is to meditate. I can immediately make out a person who has been meditating and the one who has not been meditating. Because a person who does not meditate still thinks that “Oh, it’s all right. I am doing this. I am doing that.”
Meditation is the only way you can enrich yourself with the beauty of reality. There is no other way. I cannot find any other way by which you rise into the realm of divinity.
For example, I would say that myself, whatever I have done is this, that I have been able to find out a method – how to give you Self-realisation – to masses. But that doesn’t mean that if I give to masses, they are all Sahaja Yogis. No. You must have seen whenever you have your programs, people get realisation when I am there and they come to programs for a while and then they drop off. The reason is that they have not meditated. If they had meditated, they would have known what is their quality, what are they.
So today is a day when you have to promise me that you will meditate every night, every evening, maybe in the morning also. Whenever it is possible, if you can go into a meditative mood, you are in contact with this divine power. Then whatever is good for you, whatever is good for your society, for your country, all is done by this divine power. You don’t have to overpower this divine power, you don’t have to order, you don’t have to ask. Just if you meditate you are one with this All-pervading Power, which is another great blessing to us.
Unless and until your Sahasrara is open, all the blessings of the divine power cannot come to you, cannot. Maybe you might get some money. You might get some job. You might get this and that. But your own development is only possible when you meditate and your Sahasrara is completely open and open to truth.

Shri Mataji
This is what I could give you and a mother is only happy when she can give whatever she has to her children. Her unhappiness, all her restlessness, everything is just to achieve that end, to gift all that she has.
I don’t know how much to thank you people for going through all this to get to that treasure that you have within yourself. Sahaj was the only word I could think of, when I started to manifest the Sahasrara opening, that’s easily understood by everyone so far. But you have realised that it is today a different style of yoga, where first enlightenment is given and then you are allowed to look after yourself. It was never done before. It’s just a venture of your Mother which has worked out.
