Sadhana Didi’s birthday celebrations

Shri Mataji allowed the children to come to Her house to celebrate Sadhana didi’s birthday. What could be better for children than a birthday party? The parents stayed at the back and the children filled Shri Mataji’s house with excitement. A number of children came forward to offer Sadhana didi a bouquet of flowers and a koala bear. The children and yuva shakti sang some songs for Shri Mataji. Many of them offered flowers at Her lotus feet. The mothers with babies and smaller children came forward to namaskar and offer flowers. Shri Mataji put Her attention to every child and every person in Her midst. Oblivious to the enormity of being in the presence of the Adi Shakti, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves: waving colourful sticks and often wandering around quite freely! Shri Mataji blessed a large number of gifts, which were then distributed to the children. The childrens’ memory of this event will be forever coloured by all the things that accompany a birthday party!

Mr Five Years Old:

I was at the back of the people at Burwood because we were going to sing for Shri Mataji. It was Shri Mataji’s daughter’s birthday. We were singing “Happy Birthday Aunty Sadhana”.

Shri Mataji was at the front, sitting on a chair. She was wearing a sari. Also, Shri Mataji’s husband and daughter were there.

It was night time. I was feeling good but nearly falling asleep. I was singing “this little light of mine” and I was sitting with my friends. The grown-ups were sitting outside at the back. There were lots of children. I gave Shri Mataji a small box of flowers and She looked at me. Then I did namaskar and went to sit next to dada. I sitted there for a long time and when everyone was gone I was still there taking pictures. Shri Mataji’s daughter was playing the piano. Then I found mummy and got a present from Shri Mataji and had an ice-cream. And then I went home in my shiny, blue car.

Miss Seven Years Old:

I went to Burwood and I sat in the backyard. We were waiting for Shri Mataji. Then we went inside and sang. Sadhana didi was having a birthday and she had lots and lots of candles. The yuva shakti sang some songs. Shri Mataji was sitting on a chair very, very close to me. I gave a pink rose to Her. I put it in a pile of flowers at Her feet. Shri Mataji looked at me. I did namaskar and then I went outside. We had a present and I got a bag. I also had a lollie bag. Then I went in the backyard and I played and popped bubbles, and played with a colourful stick and had chippies. I was wearing a party hat. Then I went home in my aunty’s car.
