Ryde Council Harmony Day Celebrations

March 11th 2006, Ryde Public Primary School, Tucker Road, Ryde

On Sunday March 11th we had a wonderful opportunity to have a meditation stall and take part in a concert at Harmony Day sponsed by the Ryde Council. The aim of the day was to bring together local communities, Indian, Chiense, Koren, Italian, Arminan, Palistinian and share different sport events, food and cultural items. The children enjoyed the day trying out different sports like Kabbadi, Bocco, Soccor, Tai Chi etc. and had a great time.

It was a beatiful day and the meditation tent was set up with Shri Matajis photo smiling over everyone who attended. About 1500 people came to the event. The children arrived at 11am for their performance on the stage. They started with the African piece, followed by the Dance medaly and the Shiva Dance. The children performed beautifully, and the vibrations got stronger and stronger, a cool breeze was blowing gently around everyone. It was so beauful. We were all very proud of them and the organisers were delighted, such a mulitculural group performing indian dance. The audience was invited to come to the tent and get their realisation. We had the billboard in front of the stage with the chakra chart and Shri Matajis photo for the performance which ended up staying there for the whole day.. so everyone watching the rest of the perforamces was also looking at Shri Matajis picture, and when they turned around, there was Shri Matajis picture again. The rest of the performances were also beautiful, very tradiional items, with lovely costumes and very nice vibrations.

A little later people started coming to the tent and the vibrations increased, we think about 200 adults and  children received realisation, from many different cultures. It was so easy to give realisaton, many people not even wanting an explination, they just wanted to feel it. and when they got it they were in bliss..(so were the yogies) At the very end one of the organisers from the Ryde Council and members of the Indian community said we have been trying all day to come and mediate. So we said why not now... so they also recieved realisation. Last words we heard from the lady organiser was.. well now I do feel relaxed....

It was a wonderful day, thank you to Shri Mataji for all Your blessings and love and to eveyone who came and a very special thanks to our wonderful children.

Giving Self  Realisation

It was a milestone for Sahaja Yoga to have been invited to a local council organised event…we were there right alongside an exhibition by the Ryde Council on the community/government services it provides, demonstrations/workshops by community groups and various food stalls.  I recall the words of  the Headmaster of the Ryde Primary Public School, on whose grounds the celebrations were taking place: thanking everyone  for coming and saying that to be Australian is to be pro-multi cultural and that this celebration was to remind us, Australians, that we will forever be a multi cultural nation.

We shared a tent with an Indian community group, food stalls on either side and demonstrations of Tae Kwan Do and Chinese Lion Dancers outside.  I watched yogis and yoginis go through the guided meditation as well as give vibrations to new seekers who seemed to take it in their stride.  It all seemed very natural.  Then it was my turn to take a new seeker of oriental origin through the Self Realisation process.  I welcomed the opportunity because its been a ‘problem’ getting through to this very pragmatic race with a very strong work ethic.  However, the new seeker seemed very determined and single minded in wanting the experience so after briefly explaining how Sahaja Yoga works and the importance of individual meditation as well as collective meditation, I took her through a modefiled version of the guided meditation.  At the end when the moment came to ask her to feel the cool breeze, we both smiled because at that very moment a cool wind had come up from nowhere  and was blowing through the trees and the tent.  It made it difficult for the new seeker/yogini to feel the cool breeze that was flowing from her Sahastrara.  I asked her to feel the vibrations on her hands but she couldn’t feel anything.  She then mentioned that she had had a pain in the left temple the whole morning so I explained to her about balancing the subtle system, taking her attention to the Chart of the Virat.  We did the balancing together and then when I asked her how she was feeling she looked at me with a realisation/recognition that this gentle method was really very potent, and had cured her of the pain. It seemed to be just the right kind of experience for her to whet her appetite for more.  We parted company after she had taken a card with contact details for weekly programs.  It gave me an insight too as to how we can reach this particular race of people.  Jai Shri Mataji.

Jai Shri Mataji
