The aim of the seminar was to consider\u00a0the role\u00a0of women\u00a0in Sahaja Yoga, and\u00a0their contribution towards spreading peace on Earth.<\/p>\n<p>Many important events have occurred in Sahaja Yoga in the past few years, pointing to\u00a0its effectiveness in reaching people throughout the world.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 In 1995 the founder of Sahaja Yoga, Shri Mataji, was invited to speak at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 In\u00a0May 2007, Sahaja Yoga was introduced at the United Nations\u00a0conference, \u201cTowards Sustainable Global Health\u201d in Bonn, Germany, where several Sahaja Yoga doctors gave presentations.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The Centre for Evolutionary Learning was invited to participate in a prestigious United Nations\u00a0conference,\u00a0\u201cThe 7th Global Forum on Re-inventing Government\u201d in Vienna in June 2007.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Over the last few years research publications have stressed culture as a key factor in the survival of humankind. (A summary by Professor Mahdi Elmandjra, Morocco, and a report by the Neuhardenberg Convention 2002, on relations between the West and the Muslim world make good reading).<\/p>\n<p>The group identified the\u00a0need to bring about interaction and dialogue \u2013 a dialogue of cultures to ease the psychological political situation, help reduce mutual prejudice and\u00a0increase mutual understanding. Social cultural values have been underestimated in the political arena of stability and peace. Both passion and compassion are needed in forging ahead in international co-operation.<\/p>\n<p>Cultural communication is the pathway for the future. We need\u00a0a culture of listening, and to find shared values and standards, ensuring social justice, dignity and human rights. We need to address the hurdles of fear, suspicion and prejudice.<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the new group are to:<br \/>\n\u2022 Increase\u00a0respect for the feminine and womanhood<br \/>\n\u2022 Promote inter-cultural dialogue<br \/>\n\u2022 Promote cultural activities<br \/>\n\u2022 Promote peace, education and human rights<br \/>\n\u2022 Promote\u00a0basic values, self-respect and self-esteem\u00a0to enable\u00a0the empowerment of women and family in society<br \/>\n\u2022 Promote the betterment of all in societies throughout the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On\u00a0the weekend of 8-9 December 2007 about fifty female Sahaja Yogis from across the United Kingdom\u00a0gathered at the Sahaja Yoga National Centre at Blossom Farm.
